As an AAA Diamond Member, the Historic Tamarack Lodge in Hungry Horse, Montana offers private Glacier National Park Cabin Rentals, Unit Cabins, and Bed and Breakfast accommodations.  The Lodge--originally built in 1907 and updated in 2003--provide a classic ambiance with modern amenities.

Our Glacier Park cabins are conveniently located in the heart of Flathead Canyon just outside of Glacier National Park.   Known for our outstanding hospitality, hearty continental breakfasts and affordable lodging rates, the Historic Tamarack Lodge Hungry Horse Montana resort facility is situated in a spectacular scenic mountain valley in the midst of the Montana Rockies surrounded by the Flathead National Forest. We are conveniently located 8 minutes from the entrance to Glacier National Park, 30 minutes from Whitefish Ski Area, 25 minutes from downtown Kalispell, and 20 minutes from the Glacier International Airport (FCA).  The Historic Tamarack Lodge is truly a four-season destination and offers--within a five-mile radius--an array of activities appealing to all ages and a wide range of interests.  The historic Flathead River is just across the road and is known for its blue ribbon trout fishing; or you may want to take the short scenic drive south to Flathead Lake where boating, picnicking, and swimming abound.  The Big Sky Waterslide is just 4 miles away, plus dining, shopping, golfing, and entertainment all in nearby Hungry Horse.

The Historic Tamarack Lodge provides 3400 square feet of rustic charm and still boasts its original over-sized natural stone fireplace and pole pine lodge interior and exterior architecture.  We are particularly excited about our six newly constructed two-bedroom private cabins with private decks.  You will enjoy their full kitchens, hardwood floors, and tile baths (and a full-sized living room futon for extra sleeping needs).  If you prefer the pampering a B&B offers, or find the unit cabins (similar to a motel) would better suite your lodging needs, the Historic Tamarack Lodge--in the heart of Montana's awe-inspiring Rocky Mountains--provide the perfect setting for your next family vacation, corporate or business retreat, or weekend getaway.  Log cabin, B & B, and unit cabin space is limited, so we encourage you to book early.  Use our convenient book on-line Reservations, Rates & Availability link or call the lodge directly at 406-387-4420.

Whatever your passion, lodgers will enjoy the variety of activities available to them within a radius of a few miles.   Venture out on your own day excursion or allow us to arrange a multi-day hunting, fishing or snowmobiling trip for you with one of the many outfitting organizations we partner with.   Grizzlies, brown bear, mountain goat, elk and moose are just a few of the hundreds of wildlife species which abound making the Flathead National Forest or one of the many surrounding State Parks their home. Named one of the most stunning drives in America, Glacier National Park's Going-to-the-Sun Road is less than a ten minute drive from the lodge.  See the Hungry Horse dam and reservoir, enjoy a game of golf, snowmobile riding, ski resorts, (Big Mountain and Blacktail), snowshoeing, rafting, lake fun, horseback riding, motorcycling, picnic areas, camping, scenic gardens, boat tours, walking & hiking tours, helicopter tours, hunting and fishing, (in partnership with Cabelas) historic sites, museums, boutiques, antique shops, and cultural art centers.
